Low Temperature Carbon Steel

Low-temperature carbon steel casting grades are specifically designed for service in sub-zero environments. These grades are produced with controlled chemistry and heat treatment to ensure adequate impact toughness at low temperatures, as verified by Charpy V-notch testing.

  • LCB: Tested at -46°C, 20J minimum
  • LCC: Tested at -46°C, higher carbon for strength
  • LCA: Tested at -46°C, lowest carbon for max toughness
  • Normalized + tempered heat treatment
  • 100% Charpy V-notch impact tested

Testing & Certification

All carbon steel castings include full material certification per EN 10204 3.1, with chemical analysis, mechanical properties, and heat treatment records.

  • Spectrometer chemical analysis
  • Tensile testing (yield, UTS, elongation)
  • Charpy V-notch impact testing (for LCB/LCC/LCA)
  • Hardness testing (HB/HRC)
  • NDT as required (MT, PT, RT, UT)
