Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)

NDT methods detect surface and internal defects without damaging the casting. We perform NDT per ASTM, ASME, and EN standards.

  • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) per ASTM E1444
  • Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) per ASTM E165
  • Radiographic Testing (RT) per ASTM E446
  • Ultrasonic Testing (UT) per ASTM A609
  • Visual inspection per MSS SP-55
  • Acceptance criteria per customer specification or ASME/API
Destructive tensile, impact, and metallographic testing of cast specimens

Destructive Testing

Destructive tests verify material properties and are performed on test specimens cast with each production heat.

  • Tensile test: yield strength, UTS, elongation, RA
  • Impact test: Charpy V-notch at specified temperature
  • Hardness test: HRC, HRB, HBW, HV
  • Metallographic examination: microstructure analysis
  • Intergranular corrosion test (for SS, per ASTM A262)
  • Positive Material Identification (PMI)
